≫Parole and Section 57 (6) of the German Criminal Code. Is the Convicted Person's Refusal to Surrender the Proceeds of the Crime a Convincing Reason for Refusing Parole?≪: Crime should not pay. This imperative motivated the introduction of Section 57(6) of the German Criminal Code. This provision allows denying prisoners the suspension of their sentences solely because they conceal the whereabouts of the proceeds of their crimes, thereby preventing their confiscation. In cases where the assessment of social readjustment is favourable, the author considers this misguided and therefore advocates the repeal of Section 57 (6) of the German Criminal Code.
