This small collection comprises 2 vols. (CLS/127 & CLS/128), with indices, of copies of the most important US-related correspondence, both received [i.e. those read before the Society] & sent. These reveal the on-going, albeit much reduced, extent of the SPG's activities in the US during the latter half of the 19th, & into the early 20th century, covering the periods from March 1851 to March 1916 & from April 1916 to July 1928 respectively. They are accompanied by the only vol. of copies of letters received from the Diocese of Honolulu (CLR/217), the 1st item being from the King Kamehameha V, to the Archbishop of Canterbury & dated 28 January 1871. The 2nd letter, & most thereafter, are from A. Willis, Bishop of Honolulu, spanning the annexation of Hawaii by the USA in July 1898, & ending on 21 March 1910 with a letter from Professor R. H. Thorntory, regarding the transfer of "certain funds held by your Society in trust for the Church in Hawaii, now an integral part of the American Church."
