Illuminates how borough residents, urban planners, and politicians used environmental policy to cement a racially restrictive landscape.

Though it was once home to the world's largest landfill, today Staten Island boasts thousands of acres of parklands, dozens of public-private conservation arrangements, and four ecological zoning districts. In this book, Patrick D. Nugent details the political forces that gave rise to this wealth of greenery in a famously dense city. He demonstrates how postwar economic and political trajectories intersected in the 1960s with the rising consciousness of environmentalism to create a distinctive laboratory in Staten Island, where white communities and politicians heeded the rising call for the preservation of green space-but often as a tool to maintain racial segregation. Ecological zoning, public-private park management, conservation easement, environmental litigation, and other strategies created a lush, discriminatory landscape. Nugent refers to these policies as greenlining.

The Greenlining of Staten Island shows that the political and environmental history of Staten Island is key to understanding how environmentalism has been used to reinforce racial discrimination, not just in New York City, but nationwide. By the mid-1970s, conservationists had embraced urban planning that preserved low-density housing districts and bolstered the sprawling and segregated landscape that took shape in metropolitan America over the coming decades. In exploring the gap between the modern environmental movement's ambitious goals and its tangible outcomes, Nugent excavates important lessons for contemporary city dwellers debating zoning reform and planning for climate change's impending effects.

This is an Open Access book which explores the physical and societal consequences of climate events such as heatwaves, drought, heavy rainfall and rising sea levels, and how they can lead to social disruption. The impact of climate events extends beyond damage and casualties. Climate disruption may result in people losing trust in the government and each other, in communities falling apart, as well as in increasing poverty. Conversely, the social context partly determines how well people are able to cope with climate events. Those with a strong network or sufficient resources are generally less likely to encounter severe problems and more likely to recover from such disruptions. The book argues that Dutch climate adaptation policy currently pays too little attention to these social factors. The focus of Dutch policies and practices is on physical protection measures. Although these are essential, they are not sufficient. The authors argue that climate resilience in the Netherlands could improve if the government also invests in the country's social infrastructure, which enables people to look out for each other, increases mutual trust, and offers perspectives for action.

This open access book offers a comprehensive, systems-level examination of how schooling and climate change shape one another. Drawing on insights from climate science, comparative education, education policy and implementation research, it distinguishes between first-order effects-how climate hazards and slow-onset changes disrupt learning-and second-order effects-how education systems respond through curriculum, teacher preparation, infrastructure, operations and community engagement. It maps five major narratives of climate change education-climate literacy, climate action, green economy skills, education for sustainable development and critical/decolonial approaches-and shows how they coexist and interact in global frameworks and national policies. Moving from policy to practice, it analyzes national case studies of policy reform, case studies of transformation at the school level and examines the role of educator networks and of eco-systems supporting climate change education efforts. Using a complexity science perspective, it explains why many systems remain in "low climate learning traps" and outlines realistic strategies to escape them and achieve systemic policy coherence, offering guidance for researchers, policymakers, practitioners and graduate students working toward climate-ready education systems.

This monograph establishes a pioneering analytical framework to examine China's low-carbon transition through the synergistic interaction of financial innovation and technological empowerment. By integrating green finance, digital infrastructure and green credit policies with the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the monograph offers a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms driving sustainable development.

At the macro-urban level, this book demonstrates how financial innovation catalyzes AI adoption, yielding measurable improvements in energy efficiency and significant reductions in carbon intensity. At the micro-enterprise level, this book reveals how technological empowerment directly reduces energy intensity through digital technologies, with financial innovation further amplifying this impact via targeted credit mechanisms that incentivize exploratory innovation and ESG integration. By resolving the "dual-impact paradox" of technological solutions and quantifying multi-scalar policy efficacy, this book provides emerging economies with an empirically validated blueprint for synchronizing financial systems, digital disruption, and hierarchical governance in the global climate transition.

Sustainable development is at the forefront of urban, rural, social, agricultural and economic development policies in European countries, out of these areas, agriculture is researched the least as there is currently more focus on central and urban areas.

Salvati and Konaxis present an interdisciplinary and multidimensional examination of the complex evolution of rural systems in advanced economies, and more specifically in Europe and the Mediterranean region, providing an integrated framework approaching environmental problems and socioeconomic issues jointly. Distinctive chapters authored by leading scholars in Europe identify the intrinsic peculiarity of the environmental-economic nexus characteristic of advanced economies and the most important differences with other socioeconomic contexts. Both contributions from a traditional ecological/agronomic vision, and studies having a more strict socio-demographic and economic focus, clarify the role of policies addressing sustainable development goals in the 'kaleidoscopic' rural landscape, confirming the need of place-specific approaches to socio-ecological complexity and the partial effectiveness of generalized, top-down measures.

Against the archetypal vision of economic backwardness of agricultural and forest systems, Transitional Rural Landscapes shows a dynamic image of rural landscapes under the increasing impact of climate change, providing novel interpretations, conceptual definitions, and operational tools designed to reduce ecological fragility and economic vulnerability.

This book offers a fresh and timely exploration of the intersections between ecology, media, and culture in Asian contexts, with particular attention to audiovisual narratives. Moving beyond conventional approaches to Asian media that privilege aesthetic, cultural, or socio-political analyses, it foregrounds ecological narratives and environmental themes embedded in the region's media practices. Drawing on a wide range of regional examples, the volume examines how Asian media creators engage with complex questions of history, globalisation, power, and environmental crisis while articulating distinctive counter-narratives that challenge Western-centric frameworks and orientalist perspectives. Spanning a broad geographical and thematic scope, including Japan, Korea, Thailand, Iran, Vietnam, China, and India, the book offers nuanced insights into both the ecological challenges faced across the region and the cultural frameworks that shape their mediation and representation. By combining theoretical interventions with in-depth case studies, the volume makes a rigorous scholarly contribution while providing a grounded analytical mapping of contemporary Asian ecomedia. Its key contributions lie in its interdisciplinary approach, which brings together ecocinema studies, environmental humanities, and postcolonial theory, centring Asian epistemologies and perspectives, as well as in its rich corpus of case studies drawn from varied cultural and historical contexts. As such, this volume constitutes an essential resource for readers seeking a critical and comprehensive understanding of ecological issues and their complex representations in Asian media and culture. It will be of particular interest to scholars and students in media studies, environmental humanities, ecocriticism, and Asian studies.

Across ASEAN, decades of rapid economic expansion have improved living standards but also intensified environmental pressures. Rising greenhouse gas emissions, growing energy demand, and accelerating resource depletion now threaten the region's long-term development trajectory. These challenges are unfolding at a time when ASEAN countries, together with Japan, have set ambitious carbon-neutrality goals - targets that require not only national policy innovation, but coordinated regional action.

This book provides an in-depth examination of how Southeast Asia and Japan are navigating the complex transition toward a low-carbon future. It analyzes the evolution of decarbonization policies across the region, from renewable energy strategies and industrial transformation to carbon pricing mechanisms and environmental tax reforms. Particular attention is given to transition finance and investment frameworks that can mobilize capital for cleaner technologies and resilient infrastructure, as well as the governance structures needed to support them.

A central focus of the book is the emerging role of the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC), an initiative led by Japan to strengthen cooperation on energy policy, technology deployment, and human resource development. The book explores AZEC's potential to bridge diverse national contexts, support pragmatic pathways to decarbonization, and enhance regional policy alignment while respecting local conditions and development needs.

Drawing on theoretical perspectives, empirical case studies, and policy analysis, this book offers a comprehensive foundation for understanding how Asia can pursue growth while reducing environmental impact. It speaks to scholars, policymakers, investors, and practitioners seeking rigorous insights into the policies, institutions, and cooperative frameworks shaping the region's low-carbon transition.

This book addresses the increasing social, scientific and, above all, artistic discussion of soil(s) in current cultural-societal contexts. The end of the "International Decade of Soils" (2015-2024) marked a development that has focussed on the central importance of the earth for life, biodiversity and climate on our planet since the turn of the millennium. In addition to the political and scientific recognition of this, Earth as a material has increasingly become the centre of cultural and artistic debates. In these debates, the awareness of the earth as a living organism initiated in the social and natural science discourse was taken up and further deepened. Earth is thus understood as a carrier of history, culture and identity, as a distinct and genuinely self-sufficient ecosystem that is, however, existentially threatened by climate change, industrialised and unsustainable forms of agriculture, as well as extractivism. In art, soil has evolved from an aesthetic medium to a carrier of political, ecological and historical statements. Artists today thematise ecological crises, colonial violence, land grabbing, plant blindness and the close relationship between humans and the earth. New narrative, archival and installative forms are emerging in which the earth is not just a material but an actor - often in the sense of a 'new materialism' or 'posthumanism'. Numerous exhibitions worldwide testify to the growing interest in the topic of soil in art. Historical pioneers such as Ana Mendieta, Agnes Denes and herman de vries have laid the foundations for today's positions. Current works often take up Indigenous perspectives, feminist approaches and ecological issues and call for a new relationship with the earth - as a living counterpart, not as an object to be exploited. With a number of essays ranging from Western philosophy to Indigenous epistemology, from historical examples to highly topical activist positions, this book aims to give a comprehensive insight into current theoretical and artistic discourses in ecological art studies. It brings together contributions from different continents that shed light on the topic of soil(s) in distinctive cultural contexts: as a 'natural given', political token, artistic matter, mythological bearer, and others. In this light, the eponymous term "soil" is being conceptualized in its pluralistic sense: There is no such thing as definitive and solitary soil, but it has different meanings in different geographical, political, historical and cultural contexts. Contributions by established scholars as well as junior researchers offer a range of methodological approaches: art historical essays weighing in on the aesthetic implications of earthen matter, eco-political and eco-feminist theories, material studies, and others.

This book tackles a critical question. Why has the world struggled so much to coordinate policy to address climate change, despite political and scientific consensus? Despite landmark agreements and expanding knowledge, emissions have fallen unevenly and progress has repeatedly stalled or reversed.

Democracy or Carbon Oligarchy? explains that failure by focusing on domestic politics: how institutions distribute power, how interest groups exploit "access points," and why countries with similar wealth and technology diverge. Moving beyond arguments about mere political will, it situates energy and climate outcomes within the institutional architectures of industrialized oil super-producers: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Shum advances a neopluralist theory of climate politics, arguing that policy is shaped by the strategic capture of institutional venues by carbon-intensive interests. He shows how separation of powers, federalism, party systems, and electoral rules configure opportunities for a de facto carbon oligarchy. By mapping where binding decisions are made and who can reach them, the book offers a generalizable framework for diagnosing blockages, explaining cross-national variation, and identifying leverage points for sustaining ambitious climate policy over time.

This book constructs an economic theory focused on the material foundations of economic activity, providing a basis for economic policies to achieve sustainable development. In this economic theory, inputs that undergo physical transformation once used are termed "throughput resources," while inputs that remain physically intact after use are called the "capital base." Using a two-stage production function-one stage determining physical quantities and the other determining the amount of value added-it demonstrates the theoretical possibility that even economic agents aiming for profit maximization or utility maximization can achieve economic activities where greater value added is realized with fewer throughput resources inputs. It then points out that to elicit such economic activities, certain price groups must be determined outside the market and examines the rationale for goal setting outside the market grounded in capability theory. This book provides a theoretical foundation for policies aimed at dematerialization and decarbonization.

From geological maps to photographs and films of snow, ice, clouds, and coral reefs, visual inscriptions mediate the construction and codification of extractive modes of seeing Earth's subterranean depths and aerial heights. Tracing the territorial ambitions of the archipelagic empires of Japan and the United States in the twentieth century, Archives of the Anthropocene explores crucial moments of overlap between the geoscientific history of studying Earth's deep time and the geopolitical history of territorialization, militarization, and extraction in the Pacific and polar regions. By engaging with contemporary critiques of settler colonialism, liberal humanism, and nonhuman labor from the perspective of environmental media studies, Yuriko Furuhata unsettles the anthropocentric and universalist narrative of the Anthropocene, calling us to instead imagine an anticolonial and anti-imperial future for the planet.

There is a growing body of research suggesting that wellbeing and environmental sustainability have little or no interplay or relationship, with some viewing them as often conflicting goals. This book addresses this misconception by highlighting a range of social factors that influence wellbeing challenges. It uniquely advances the traditional emphasis on economic growth by shedding light on the need for the development of pro-social attitudes and behaviours that are essential for achieving more harmonious coexistence with nature. The nascent discoveries from this emerging discipline are already exerting influence on economics, psychology, healthcare, urban planning, and the methodologies employed by national statistical agencies that inform policy decisions.

The editors advance reader's understanding of these complex issues by bringing together critical perspectives that explore best practices of utilising digital transformation as a catalyst, rather than an obstacle, for constructing an environmentally sustainable and socially equitable Global South in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the expertise of 30 leading scholars to provide an up-to-date coverage of sustainability and wellbeing issues confronting the Global South, providing potential solutions.

The International Studies in Small Business and Entrepreneurship Research series opens a new chapter, as it seeks to advance discussions that consolidate conventional knowledge. The purpose of this initiative is to invite new reflections on the nature of entrepreneurship and small business across contexts. The collections in this series aim to improve the theoretical rigour and practical relevance of the field. The emphasis is to advance contemporary contributions that matter for small business and entrepreneurship, directing us to underexplored and under-theorised contexts.

In 2021, the London School of Economics found that octopuses are sentient beings, capable of experiencing pain, distress, and happiness, and that high-welfare farming of them would therefore be impossible. But the enormous international demand for octopus meat continues to grow even as wild octopus populations decline, prompting a race to bring the first farm-raised product to market. At the same time, firestorms of protest in Europe and the United States over the ethics of farming such an intelligent creature are pressuring lawmakers to ban the practice altogether.

After working at one of the world's first octopus farms, on the Yucatan Peninsula, award-winning journalist Richard Schweid embarked on a global adventure to explore the ethics and future of octopus aquaculture. He traveled to octopus-farming sites in Mexico, Spain, and Japan where he met people on both sides of the ethical debate: marine biologists, businesspeople, restaurateurs, animal rights advocates, octopus farmers, and everyday fishermen whose livelihoods depend on wild octopus. In this vibrant account of his experiences, Schweid also engages pressing related issues: environmental impact; the need for sustainable farming opportunities in underresourced communities; and how global desires for specific foods place pressure on local populations. Ultimately, the appetite for octopus demonstrates the conundrums of our interconnected world-across countries, through oceans, and via the food we consume.

Despite growing awareness of environmental degradation and biodiversity loss, many Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are insufficiently engaged in advancing ecosystem-based solutions. This book addresses that gap by providing evidence-based strategies, curricular innovations, and case studies that illustrate how HEIs can embed SDG15 into institutional priorities and practices.

A focused collection situating HEIs as catalysts for systemic sustainability change, the chapters explore how HEIs can advance delivery of SDG15 by tackling environmental degradation and deforestation and support land restoration and biodiversity conservation through teaching, research, and community partnerships. With contributions spanning continents and context - from ecological literacy in business education in Norway to reimagining agronomy curricula in Argentina, stakeholder collaboration in Switzerland, and biodiversity-focused research in Kenya - each chapter maps to SDG15 indicators and illustrates how HEIs are driving localized action with global impact.

Transcending siloed green initiatives, the book emphasizes institutional transformation through curriculum redesign, faculty development, and multi-actor collaboration. This book is important reading for scholars, university leaders, curriculum designers, and policy advocates interested in actionable strategies that link education to land-based sustainability challenges.

As the 2030 deadline for the Sustainable Development Goals approaches, From Fragmentation to Wholeness offers a profound re-examination of global transformation. While nations have pledged sustainability through targets and reforms, the world continues to face climate breakdown, widening inequality, ecological collapse, and deepening social fragmentation. This timely work argues that these crises are not merely institutional or technical, but arise from a deeper fragmentation within consciousness itself. When thought divides life into sectors, when identity fuels conflict, and when fear and desire shape ambition, institutions inevitably inherit these divisions.

Beginning from the insight that the outer world mirrors the inner movement of the self, the authors explore how patterns of thought shape climate policy, economic design, governance, education, and technology. Through three interwoven movements-the global crisis as inward division writ large; the mirror of the self in fear, memory, and psychological time; and action arising from awareness beyond identity-the book invites readers to consider transformation as an integrated process of inner and outer change. For policymakers, sustainability scholars, UN professionals, systems thinkers, educators, and students, this is not a philosophical abstraction but a practical inquiry into intelligence without identity, and institutions as living spaces, rather than instruments of control. It opens a doorway to a future where wholeness, rather than fragmentation, becomes the foundation of global action.

This undergraduate textbook educates non-science majors-our future policy makers-on how science works, the rules that underpin our existence, our impact on nature, and nature's impact on us. The book provides a concise, historically based, non-mathematical treatment of modern physics relevant to societal issues. It challenges readers to examine the problems we face (and their own beliefs) in light of the scientific method.

In this new edition, a large volume of material has been revised and updated, including expanded discussions on climate change, electric vehicles, and future energy sources. It contains additional new end-of-chapter problems as well as an interactive module that seeks to reduce endorsement of pseudoscience and conspiratorial beliefs by promoting critical thinking, scientific literacy, and effective self-reflection. With a narrative structure, Science and Society, 2nd Edition explains the scientific process and the power it brings to dealing with the natural world. The reader will gain a deeper understanding of scientific results reported by the media, and thus the tools to develop a rational, fact-based assessment of energy and resource policy.

Praise for Science and Society:

"Anyone who thinks society can be managed without science should think again, or better: read this book. The authors explain how science permeates society, and with simple examples of the scientific process they show its special power in dealing with the natural world. This is a must read for the world's seven billion scientists."

This book provides an innovative theoretical framework for studying the governance of the local co-creation of environmental solutions. Expert contributors comparatively analyse a series of international case studies to discern similarities and differences across local collaborations between public, private and civic actors working towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Focusing on local sustainability transitions from a broad spectrum of socio-political regimes, contributors examine key questions concerning the role of community capital, cultural context, conflict mediation and public sector capacity. They discuss empirical findings from the GOGREEN Project, exploring factors which support and challenge activists in their efforts to co-create sustainability transitions. Chapters assess the impact of private entrepreneurs initiating and facilitating green co-creation, as well as conflict resolution in sustainable energy projects.

International in scope and perspective, this is an essential read for researchers and graduate students of public policy, environmental studies and sustainable governance. Policymakers and practitioners working in environmental governance and regulation, as well as those focusing on implementing the SDGs, will likewise benefit from its novel and timely analysis.

The Moral Economy of Plant-Based Futures explores the complex interplay between plant-based social movements and the evolving global economy, offering a timely analysis of how these movements respond to and shape calls for reduced meat and dairy production.

While meat and dairy production and consumption are increasingly being held responsible for climate change and general environmental destruction, questions of how social movements respond to and are affected by global calls for a reduction of meat and dairy products remain underexplored in relation to markets. Drawing on extensive fieldwork in Telangana, India, and California, USA, the author adopts a multi-sited, sociomaterial approach to investigate how moral issues intersect with economic arrangements, revealing how movements influence markets and vice versa. It establishes an empirically based, interdisciplinary research agenda for exploring how the plant-based moral economy is understood, practised and contested at different social levels across both the Global North and South, and advances a broader theorization of the moral economy of plant-based futures.

An examination of the interaction of moral issues with economic arrangements, which combines a social movement's perspective with a moral-economy approach, this book offers a compelling lens for exploring how movements make markets. It will therefore appeal to scholars and students of sociology, anthropology, geography, development, movements and globalization with interests in food, the environment and the moral economy.

This book presents a comprehensive and innovative analysis of decarbonisation and the reshaping of risk in contemporary financial and institutional systems. It develops a multidimensional approach that integrates finance, behavioural dynamics and governance within ongoing technological and climate transformations. The novelty of the volume lies in reframing decarbonisation as a structural reconfiguration of risk, rather than merely a regulatory or reporting challenge. It emphasises the fact that research and analysis of environmental, sustainability, and governance (ESG) dynamics are gaining centre stage in the academic sphere, but the problem of low transparency, and more specifically the lack of disclosure, is under-estimated, and the topic has gained insufficient attention to date.

The book offers an in-depth description of the different approaches to transition and climate risk regulation through the critical analysis of the actions implemented by the main regulatory authorities and introduces a comprehensive analysis of climate risks and related scenarios using stress testing. It rethinks the concepts of risk, profit, and responsibility in the context of a pro-environmental attitude and adopts an interdisciplinary approach by exploring ESG issues from a quantitative, institutional, and behavioural perspective. This volume examines the transition and the costs connected with decarbonisation, focusing on the problems of disclosure and reporting, and considers the role of financial innovation and data-driven technologies in shaping transition dynamics, while developing a co-evolutionary framework linking risk, responsibility, and institutional design.

The book is therefore positioned as a key reference for academics, advanced students, and researchers concerned with decarbonisation, transition risk, sustainable finance, and the evolving governance of financial and institutional systems.

Assessing Natural Resource Damages: An Economic Perspective serves as a comprehensive guide to assessing environmental damages resulting from oil spills and hazardous-substance releases. With more than 2,000 oil spills annually into US navigable waters, new Natural Resource Damages (NRD) claims arise each year. Most of the over 1,100 hazardous-waste sites listed as Superfund sites in the US have NRD claims underway or will eventually face such claims. Finally, tens of thousands of other hazardous-waste sites across the country are facing or may face NRD claims. This book fills a significant gap in the literature, offering insights into recent advancements in economic methods and tools, and highlights the scientific and legal issues that typically arise in an NRD assessment. Catering to economists, scientists, attorneys, and educators across the United States and Europe, where similar assessment processes exist, this book serves as an invaluable resource for navigating the complexities of NRD cases now and into the future.

  • Includes more than 50 case studies, summarizing specific oil spills or hazardous substance releases, enhancing comprehension of the theme of each chapter
  • Serves as a comprehensive resource on Natural Resource Damages, offering new information and citing hundreds of peer-reviewed journal articles from the last 35 years
  • Includes an appendix with a comprehensive bibliography on NRD-related legal articles, in addition to an appendix providing a bibliography on the Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) and Resource Equivalency Analysis (REA) methodologies, catering to scientists involved in NRD assessments

Richly illustrated with the author's exquisite drawings, this visual manual provides a concise and practical introduction to contemporary urban landscape architecture with trees and forest: Sylvan City Design.

Aimed at student and professional landscape architects and environmental designers, the manual will also appeal to other urban disciplines and to communities engaged with neighbourhood spaces in the context of the potential for trees to transform city living for climate resilience, green health, social equity, biodiversity and - at the same time - enriched urban culture.

A sylvan city is foremost 'made, shaped or formed of woods or trees'. Catherine Dee sets out to demonstrate how and why settlements may be better designed by considering trees as the indispensable 'ground' of a city, forming a life-giving, long-term dwelling matrix into which buildings and built infrastructure are fitted.

The manual is organised in two parts. Part I: Principles, Strategies + Methods introduces the central aims of sylvan city design and establishes key design principles, strategies and ethos: 1 What is a Sylvan City? 2 What is Sylvan Design? 3 Sylvan Space, 4 Sylvan Time, 5 Sylvan Climate and 6 Sylvan Specificity, Diversity + Robustness.

Part II: Forms, Functions + Habitats explores context-specific design, illustrating a wide range of urban situations, scales and types of tree environment from tiny street corners through to city-wide tracts using the patterns: Forest, Locale, Greenway, Grove, Glade, Parkland, Avenue, Hedgerow, Thicket, Garden, Farm, Woodland, and Wilderness. In each section, the design approach is to refresh and re-orient long-practised forms of tree cultivation and ecological management by matching them with urban social, cultural and biodiversity functions to create a contemporary environmental language adaptable to evolving sylvan cities in diverse global regions and changing climates.

Communicated in vivid drawings inspiring new ways to dwell with trees, this is a DIY landscape architecture manual for all.

This incisive book examines environmental taxation and low-carbon policies as countries around the globe continue their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Exploring the frontier roles played, for example by wealth taxes and constitutional mandates in environmental taxation, leading experts provide novel methods of incorporating climate policies into tax systems.

Chapters tackle controversial issues that arise from existing policies, such as the continuing challenge of achieving climate goals without generating inequities. They also analyse how the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will affect exporting countries. Contributors assess theoretical principles and the barriers to their implementation, including the polluter-pays principle, whereby those who damage the environment are responsible for funding climate endeavours, rather than taxpayers. Looking to the future, they present a number of global case studies, with a particular focus on Brazil, to explore strategies for successful mergers between environmental policies and tax systems.

Frontiers in the Low-carbon Transition is an essential resource for scholars, students of law, politics and public policy, sustainable development and others seeking to understand how practical taxation systems can help combat climate change. Environmental law practitioners and NGO professionals will similarly benefit from its actionable suggestions.
