Die Europaeische Wirtschafts- und Waehrungsunion (WWU) ist einer der Grundpfeiler der europaeischen Integration. Seit dem 1. Juli 1990 und auf fester vertragsrechtlicher Grundlage seit dem 1. November 1993 (Vertrag von Maastricht) koennen und muessen sich die Mitgliedstaaten durch die Umsetzung bestimmter wirtschafts- und waehrungspolitischer Vorgaben des Primaerrechts in einem mehrstufigen Prozess innerhalb der Europaeischen Union einer Wirtschafts- und Waehrungsunion verpflichten. Ziel ist, ergaenzend zum Binnenmarkt, eine gemeinsame Waehrung mit hoher Preisniveaustabilitaet. Das neue Handbuch analysiert alle wichtigen rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen der WWU vor dem Hintergrund der apostrophierten ?Eurokrise“. Es erlaeutert den unterschiedlichen Stand der Umsetzung der WWU-Vereinbarung, insbesondere in den 19 Laendern der ?Euro-Gruppe“, die den ?Euro“ eingefuehrt haben.
