In Injurious Love: Racial Violence and Interracial Intimacy, Corrine Collins challenges one of the most durable liberal narratives of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries: that interracial love functions as a natural antidote to racism. Across the United States and Great Britain, interracial relationships and multiracial families have frequently been celebrated as symbols of social progress, intimate proof that racial boundaries have softened. Collins asks what this story leaves out.

Drawing on Black studies, critical mixed race studies, and Black queer feminist thought, Injurious Love examines how intimacy unfolds within the long histories of enslavement and colonization that shape racial life in the Anglosphere. Many people in the United States associate reproductive politics primarily with the contentious debates surrounding abortion and contraceptive access. Yet, Rocio R. Garcia argues the United States also has a persistent preoccupation with the reproductive lives of people of Latin American descent, evidenced in debates about undocumented immigration and birthright citizenship, the politics regarding social services to help Latinx families out of poverty, and past and contemporary examples of the coerced sterilization of Puerto Rican and Mexican-origin Latinxs, among many other issues. At the intersections of these reproductive inequalities are a growing group of Latinx feminists in the movement for reproductive justice-a social movement across the United States led by women of color who equally fight for everyone's human right to have a child, to not have a child, and to parent in safe and healthy conditions. How sex workers and activists engage in non-capitalist care practices to manage precarity, stigma, and criminalization

In Sex Worker Solidarity, Lauren Levitt argues that because of their marginalized status, which makes them outsiders in legal, labor, medical, and social networks, sex workers inevitably care for one another in distinct ways that are outside of traditional material and emotional support structures. Through participant observation and interviews with sex workers and sex worker activists at the Sex Workers Outreach Project Los Angeles (SWOP-LA) and Dungeon X, a large commercial dungeon in New York City, Levitt illustrates how sex workers create forms of value for one another that go beyond the value they create for bosses and clients, providing a model for broader social change in the face of increasing wealth inequality.

Drawing on Marxist and women of color feminisms and queer theory, Levitt reveals how sex workers' non-biological kinship structures enable them to circulate both material resources and knowledge according to a moral economy distinct from capitalism's economy of competition, cementing bonds between workers. Affect's Engine is an immersive ethnography of queer people of color on the social media platform Tumblr during its "peak" years, 2010-2015. Alexander Cho tells the story of Tumblr users and the hurricane of content that they circulated-and that circulated around them. Chronicling a formative time in social media history, Cho shows how a multiply minoritized population utilized Tumblr's unique structure to express, emote, and bond together as a survival strategy for resisting white supremacy and heteronormativity. Paying critical attention to user-facing design, he argues that this was not as possible on other platforms. The same features that drew queer people of color to Tumblr-to feel intensely-also explain why the platform did not succeed financially: its design did not instantiate a version of the good liberal subject-linear, singular, discrete, orderly, public, and market legible. While painting a vivid picture of a vital and bygone internet era, Cho asks readers to take seriously how affect is shaped by user-facing design on social media.
