Es ist als Hilfsmittel fuer alle konzipiert, die mittelhochdeutsche Texte lesen und verstehen wollen ? in erster Linie fuer Studierende der Aelteren Germanistik, aber auch fuer Wissenschaftler, die einen ersten schnellen Zugriff auf die Bedeutung eines mittelhochdeutschen Wortes suchen. Da das Woerterbuch Informationen ueber einen epochen- und gattungsuebergreifenden Wortschatz erschliessen soll, sind Texte aus dem Zeitraum 1070?1450 beruecksichtigt. Der dargestellte Wortschatz wird eingegrenzt auf Texte, die fuer den akademischen Unterricht relevant sind. Eine Korpus-Bibliographie macht das Auswahlprinzip transparent. Dem Benutzerzweck entsprechend ist das neue Woerterbuch als Bedeutungswoerterbuch angelegt, das auf Umschreibungen verzichtet. Die neuhochdeutschen Synonyme basieren auf einer Ueberpruefung aller Belege im Kontext der Quellengrundlage. Sie ermoeglichen das Verstaendnis jeder im Korpus belegten Textstelle und sind in einer woertlichen Uebersetzung verwendbar, ohne einer individuellen Interpretation vorzugreifen. Als Hilfsmittel zur Rezeption von Texten stellt das Woerterbuch Lautstand, Genus, Flexion und Syntax nicht nach normativen Kriterien, sondern grundsaetzlich deskriptiv den Textbelegen folgend dar. Angaben zur Valenz der Verben ermoeglichen eine leichtere Zuordnung des mittelhochdeutschen Worts zu seiner neuhochdeutschen Entsprechung.

Akkadian was the main language of the Babylonian and Assyrian empires and the lingua franca of the ancient Near East used, for example, by the Hittites and Egyptians in international correspondence. The Akkadian language is therefore crucial in reconstructing early Semitic historical grammar, and, due to its central role in a vast geographical and culturally diverse are over a long period of time, Akkadian is unequivocally important as the origin, receptor, and transmitter of both Semitic and non-Semitic loan and foreign words whose traces can, for example, be found in modern languages.

This is a dictionary of Nafsan, the language spoken in Vanuatu in the south of Efate Island in the villages of Erakor, Pango, and Eratap. Nafsan is one of 130 distinct languages spoken in Vanuatu.
